BAGI Projects
In addition to flying and offering rides, the Balloon Association of Greater Illinois enjoys "Paying it Forward" to the community. Below are some of our ongoing projects; click on them for more information.
Agricultural Scholarship
The Balloon Association of Greater Illinois Agricultural Scholarship program was established as a way to "give back" to the Ag community for their hospitality in allowing balloons to use their property for launches and landings. Click on the link below for more details about the program.
Summercamp Scholarship
Annually BAGI sponsors 2 campers to attend a Balloon Federation of America (BFA) sponsored Hot Air Ballooning summer camp. The sponsorship pays for the tuition fee of the camp. Campers are responsible for their own transportation to and from the camp. Click on the link below for more details about the program.
Chanute Air Museum
The BAGI club maintains a small hot air ballooning exhibit inside of the Chanute Air Museum located in Rantoul, Illinois. A couple balloon baskets, burners, and small items are on display. Click on the link below for more details about the program.
Hilary Fromm Pin Collection
BAGI maintains the Hilary Fromm Hot Air Balloon Pin Collection. The pin collection is a tribute to Hilary, a little girl from Illinois with Cerebral Palsy who regularly enjoyed an evening of hot air ballooning with family and friends. Click on the link below for more details about the program.
